Brisbane-based Thermomix consultant, eco-living advocate, and the woman behind the EcoMixer Edit newsletter.

Hi, I'm Jen.

I discovered Thermomix in 2015 at a demo party — I didn't even know what it was. I subsequently held my own demo, and my husband and I were in instant agreement: it was a no-brainer. It was a mainstay in our kitchen... two years in Melbourne, seven years in Singapore, then back to Brisbane in 2024 — by then I was a seasoned Thermomixer. Becoming a consultant felt like a natural next step because this machine genuinely changed the way my family cooks, eats, and lives — and I love helping others discover that for themselves.

My story

From Melbourne to Singapore to Brisbane — with a Thermomix in tow

In those early Melbourne years, my kids were tiny and the Thermomix was my secret weapon for keeping up with them. I leaned heavily on the Basic Cookbook — muffins, soups, risotto, dips, cakes, biscuits — the kind of wholesome, no-fuss cooking that kept a young family fed and happy without taking over my day. I had always loved cooking and had a basic understanding of health. Still, it was when my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2016 that I had to take a crash course in nutrition - understanding macronutrients of foods and later, developing a love of understanding everything from micronutrients to microplatics in food.

"I was grateful to have my Thermomix Basic Cookbook as my guide - with every recipe having a full nutrition panel provided, it gave me the confidence knowing my daughter could manage her insulin supply correctly, but also what I was serving to my family was balanced and nutritious."

This was before Cookidoo existed, and honestly, that cookbook alone was worth the machine! Moving to Singapore changed everything for my Thermomix journey.

"Food is practically a religion in Singapore - the markets, the hawker centres, the obsession with fresh ingredients - it changed the way I thought about cooking entirely."

And living in a condominium with a big expat community meant a big social life that revolved around food - pool days, park meetups, BBQs, endless entertaining. I started exploring the recipe community properly and discovered the Thermomix could do far more than I'd been asking of it. Three recipes became absolute staples of those years: the Community Fave Brown Rice Salad, the Cherry tomato and red onion focaccia and the Magic Bean Chocolate Cake - all crowd-pleasers I made on repeat. Salads and meat rubs were BBQ fixtures. The Basic Cookbook still came out weekly, but now I was cooking with genuine curiosity and confidence.

Moving back to Brisbane after 25 years away meant starting afresh — new city, new friendships, and no Thermomix for three months while it made its way over on a ship. That was genuinely frustrating. One of the first new friends I made suggested I become a consultant, and I just went with it. It meant getting the latest TM6 on my bench straight away, and I was able to really dig deep into my skills — learning to use Cookidoo proficiently and expanding my recipe repertoire a hundredfold. My family couldn't believe the meals the Thermomix was producing (since leaving Singapore I had started to experiment with all the Asian meals we had taken for granted at Hawker Centres that we had never actually cooked at home!), and we all agreed becoming a consultant was the best decision I'd made. Becoming a consultant also meant being immersed in a community of like-minded people — exactly what I needed after so long away and missing the closeness of our expat life in Singapore. In 2025, the Thermomix TM7 arrived on Australian shores, and I haven't looked back.

"Sometimes I use my TM7 up to eight times a day, which sounds a lot until you see how easily it adds up: morning eggs, a smoothie, a loaf of bread, mixing up a paste or spice mix, making lunch, baking snacks, cooking a main and a side for dinner. Eight uses. One machine. One very happy family."

Why consulting, why EcoMixer

I love doing demos because food is one of the best reasons people have to come together — and the conversations that happen around a Thermomix are genuinely some of my favourites. Every demo is different. I learn as much from my guests as they learn from me — how they cook, what their families eat, how they manage their time and their health. It never gets old.

What I want every guest to leave with is a feeling of empowerment — a real sense that nourishing yourself and your family doesn’t have to be hard, expensive or time-consuming.

"So many other parts of our lives run on modern technology without us giving it a second thought. The kitchen shouldn't be the exception."

The Thermomix is the world’s most advanced kitchen tool that works with you — helping you pack in more nutrients, eat less processed food, reduce packaging and waste, and actually enjoy cooking again — and, as I said to my husband in 2015, a complete no-brainer.

These days I spend my time doing demos, writing the EcoMixer Edit newsletter, and experimenting with how AI tools can make home life easier — from meal planning to grocery lists to recipe creation.

What I believe in

Real food. Real life. Real results.

🌿

Eco-conscious living

Small swaps add up. I'm always looking for ways to reduce waste, eat seasonally, and make choices that are good for the planet. And these days the real impact of micro plastics in our food is driving the need to be more conscious than ever.

🍜

Cooking that fits your life

I don't believe in perfection, and my available time to spend in the kitchen is limited, like most busy people. I believe in getting a nourishing meal on the table on a weeknight even when I'm  exhausted. I help you do the same.

AI as a home tool

I use AI every day — not just for meal planning, recipe ideas, and saving time in the kitchen. It powers my learning journeys, my home admin and all areas of my business. I share what actually works in the newsletter.

💚

No pressure, ever

My demos are relaxed, informative, and zero hard sell. If Thermomix is right for you, you'll know it. Think of it as a chance to have some friends over, share some food and good conversation!

In my kitchen

My family's favourites...

These are the recipes that get requested most in our house — tried, tested, and made better with a few little tweaks along the way.

Hainanese Chicken Rice
01

Hainanese Chicken Rice

A nod to Singapore — silky poached chicken, fragrant rice cooked in the Thermomix, and a ginger-chilli sauce that makes everything better. And after seven years living in Singapore I can honestly say this tastes like the real thing from a hawker market. We have a pandan plant growing in our backyard (they're perfect for Brisbane's subtropical climate) and I'm convinced it's the secret ingredient — along with homemade chicken stock.

Beef Tacos
02

Beef Tacos

If my kids had it their way, it would be Taco Tuesday every week, but I negotiated every fortnight! I use 700g of mince browned in two batches of 350g, and keep everything else the same. This gives me 4 big serves for dinner and always a leftover serve for my son. I make my own taco seasoning every month or so an add the full 30g of taco seasoning to the beef — fair warning, it does make it properly spicy!

Slow Cooked Lamb Madras
03

Slow Cooked Lamb Madras

We are a curry-mad family. And honestly I could eat it every day if I could choose. For this recipe, I often swap the lamb for beef chuck - it's cheaper and works just as well. I add capsicum and use my Thermomix madras curry powder. I cook it early in the day and let it sit for a few hours, then add 1/2 cup of lentils, 1/2 cup of water and then re-heat it for 30 mins on low, serving it with rice cooked in the Thermomix.

Sticky Pork Belly with Jasmine Rice
04

Sticky Pork Belly with Jasmine Rice

This is like eating at a chinese restaurant! I always use about 1.2kg of boneless pork belly - it fits perfectly and there's no need to adjust anything else in the recipe. As the rice cooks in the Varoma, at the end of I place the rice and the main seperately in Thermoservers to keep warm and quickly made Asian Greens as a side dish - the perfect accompaniment.

Creamy Chicken Coconut Curry
05

Creamy Chicken Coconut Curry

The classic Thermomix demo recipe is always a winner! I usually increase the chicken to about 800g and add a can of chickpeas or a whole head of broccoli. Half the cauliflower rice goes back into the curry too — bigger serve, more vegetables, and everyone is happy. Once cooked, it continues to develop it's flavour in the Thermoserver while we make an extra serve of rice.

Tips from my kitchen

Things I wish someone had told me

Use the Varoma more

Most people steam vegetables in it and stop there. Try steaming fish, dumplings, or even a whole pudding. It's a game-changer.

Batch cook on Sundays

One two-hour session on Sunday — stocks, sauces, grains — and weeknight dinners become genuinely easy.

Let AI write your meal plan

I paste my fridge contents into ChatGPT and ask for a week of Thermomix-friendly dinners. Takes two minutes and I actually cook what's on the list.

Clean it immediately

Add warm water and a drop of dish soap, run Turbo for 5 seconds. Done. Don't let it sit.
